Public-Private Partnerships for Development: Implementing Solutions in Brazil

Through a long-term partnership between the public and private sectors, private investment is a viable alternative for developing infrastructure projects and public services. This course analyzes Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) cases in Latin America and the Caribbean with specifications to be applied in Brazil.

The course is based on the contents of the Reference Guide on Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) version 2.0, developed and published in 2014 by the IDB, World Bank (WB), and Asian Development Bank (ADB). The preparation of this course was financed by the Special Program for Institutional Development (SPID).

Learning objectives:

  1. Identify the fundamental principles and concepts related to PPP.
  2. Recognize the stages of the PPP project cycle, main actors, and their responsibilities.
  3. Recognize the context and requirements needed to implement a PPP and the possible advantages and risks.
